Sting's concert took place in Rostov...
British singer Sting gave a concert in the capital of the Don region as part of his "Back to Bass" world tour. Three thousand spectators came from almost all over the south of Russia. Such queues at the entrance to the Rostov Sports Palace have not been seen for a long time. The first Sting fans began to gather several hours before. There were several generations in the hall. This is the case when families bought tickets to the concert. And the prices - from 2.5 to 25 thousand per ticket - were not scary. The hall was sold out.
Some came to the concert with traditional flowers. Some - with photos of the musician, some - prudently with binoculars - to see all the details. Sting is among the few artists who come only with their own equipment and personal team. One of the main ones in the troupe is considered to be the sound engineer. It is he who makes the sound quality on the most difficult concert venues.
"The goal is to make a very clean sound, clean for his vocals. As you can imagine, some buildings are not very conducive to clean sound. But I hope it works out here," says Sting's sound designer Howard Page.
And finally the long-awaited one appeared on the stage. And, to the surprise of those gathered, he suddenly began to speak Russian. But he said only a few words - "Good evening, Rostov!" The hall is charged with mood from the first minutes of the performance.
In Russia in 2012, Sting gave only two concerts - both in southern Russian cities. In Krasnodar, for example, a 20-year-old fan broke onto the stage. Sting did not let security remove her from the stage. He sang, and the Krasnodar student danced. In Rostov, there were no funny incidents. But there was dancing. The singer did not mind.
The Don-TR operators were unable to film the artist's most famous compositions that evening. The demands that were put forward to the press were that they could film the first two songs and no more than 30 seconds each.
Sting refused the press conference, as well as the autograph session. Immediately after the performance, he flew to Istanbul - already to his Turkish fans.
